Cooperabung NSW

North of Telegraph Point look out on the east of the Pacific Highway for Yarrabee Rd; 500m east along it are two sections of Old Highway One. The southern section (1km) provides access to local properties and is an interesting drive with traces of the old yellow centre lines still visible - it stops dead where it was obliterated by the deep cutting for the modern highway. The northern section is now home to the Mt Cooperabung Hillclimb of the Kempsey Car Club and access is blocked by a locked gate - it must have been an interesting section of road!
